Wonderful Wednesday - SAFF 2017 Edition

Welcome to another edition of Wonderful Wednesday!!  This installment is about last week's trip to SAFF.  For those of you who aren't from around here, that's short for Southeastern Animal Fiber Fair held just outside of Asheville, North Carolina.

Ahoy, there!!  Mountains in the distance:

It was a pitiful display of fall color, though:

We made a stop at Black Mountain Yarn Shop on the way:

That was followed by dinner at the Apollo Flame Bistro.  If you like Greek or Italian food, you should give it a try!  Dessert.  Divided by four equals leftovers:

Hanging out at the hotel:

Happy to have finished their Hoodie Shawl Cardies before SAFF:

SAFF, DAY ONE...

Oh!  A new feature at a favorite booth:

I don't know how I managed to avoid purchasing one of these Limited Edition project bags:

One of the most uniquely decorated booths was Whimzee Stitches.  Great customer service, too!! Be sure to tell Rick that Joy sent you:

Thank you to Kay at Bede Sisters Podcast for the lovely door prize:

Oh!  Here's the bag that I won from Whimzee Stitches.  Funny thing was...

I bought the EXACT SAME BAG this morning.

Not to worry!  The "new girl" on this trip REALLY wanted this bag and traded it for a yarn-y prize of DOUBLE the value:

SAFF, DAY TWO...

What a cute shirt you have on.  Smile for the camera:

Here's that terrific prize that I told you about.  It's a set of hand dyed yarn from The Fibre Studio:

Filling an order for alpaca socks at Empty Pockets Alpaca Farm:

Is that a sheep?  Yes.  Someone REALLY asked that question:

It was a lucky thing we weren't in a hurry!  This beautiful RAINBOW skein of Uneek yarn was a pain to wind:

Cynthia Wood Spinner was in charge of the Ravelry meet-up at the first fiber festival I ever attended.  She learned to spin that day and went on to create her own spindle... and many others:

She tried talking me through the process, but the booth filled up:

SAFF, DAY THREE...

This pretty pattern is in the running for sweater number two, if sweater number one turns out well:

If not that one, then maybe this one will be a contender:

Tracy was happy to sit and knit on her sock:

When she wasn't knitting on it, I was:

SAFF Friends, 2017:

Find Your Fade, Shawl Buddies, 2017:

Goodbye, SAFF!!  Hope to see you next year:

(A portion of) The Blue Ridge Parkway:

Until next time...
Wooly wonders await!!!
